Warhorse Studios is currently hard at work putting the finishing touches into its eagerly-anticipated sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but like humble protagonist Henry of Skallitz himself, the developer hasn't forgotten its roots. Starting as something of an internet rumour, it has since been confirmed that select backers from the original Kickstarter drive, which ended a decade ago, will be given a code for the sequel.
That's according to PCGamesN, which clarified the situation with Warhorse and confirmed it to be legitimate. The expansive, realistic, non-fiction RPG began as a crowd-funded effort in 2014, raising over £1,100,000 from 35,384 backers. Citing an email that was shared via a Reddit recipient, Warhorse said:
"Thanks to your gracious crowdfunding support of Kingdom Come: Deliverance on Kickstarter or our website years ago, we have reached a new chapter of Henry’s journey: the development of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Because of your backer tier, the upcoming sequel will be free for you, and we’ll deliver it at release via a key to this email address."
Warhorse Studios' community manager said that any pledge level that references receiving "Act II" will be offered a free copy of the sequel. The scope of the original game grew way beyond what was initially planned, and so from what we can tell, that appears to be anyone who pledged at the "Duke" level or higher should be eligible and can pick their preferred platform, of which PS5 is an option.

how much did you have to donate for the backer tier to now get the sequel for free ?
@trev666 I just looked it up its the £125 tier and up. Theres a few backers at £3000 too. Mad
Anyways i added all the backers up and its roughly 1100 backers that will get Act 2 for free
I only pledged £20 which just got me the disc version
Well you can't say Warhorse is stingy. I think this is a very nice gesture. Even if you have already bought both games for at least a €125 donation, it is about the idea and the thoughts behind it.
Looks good on them to honor a promise.
I will happily pay for this!
Techland scammed us all with Dying Light 2, but Kingdom Come 2 will deliver Rance.
My wife was a backer. But I'm sure she paid less than the amount necessary for the freebie.
Dang. I backed it on kickstarter but not at that level.. couldn’t afford it then. Pretty cool of them to remember the people that did, however and somehow getting their publisher to agree
Thats amazing. I am willing to drop big cash on this game. The first one was so moving. I felt like I was Deus Vulting in the old world.
Well being as it was for pledges of £125 and up, and was originally planned for 9 months after act 1, it’s probably well deserved… I only pledged £15, which was a pretty good deal for the first game! Even tho it’s like $3 now…
